As you may know, I once managed a QA group for the software development division of one of Boston's oldest publishing houses. Yesterday I received a call from one of our oldest clients who happen to be located in the exact same space where my office was located. We got relocated from downtown Boston to Kendall Square, which is where this client's HQ is. I mentioned this to the new HR rep I spoke with yesterday and that I had been back to space a few years ago and nothing looked the same; I couldn't even identified the space where I worked.
Anyway, I like to think of them as playing "Moneyball" in the software development world. I just read the book, and recommend it because it contains lessons for our world as well as baseball. They need to fill two positions, and quickly.
